supervisors, procurators therefor, and preachers,

in regard to their appointment, dismissal and

resignation, and in regard to priests.

Particulars in regard to believers.

of property and other financial affairs.

Particulars in regard to public

When it is desired to alter the regulations

governing a sect or the rules of a denomination or when a

(Shinto or Buddhist) sect or a denomination, which is not a

juridical person, wishes to have the status of a juridical

person, it shall be necessary to obtain the sanction of the

competent Minister of State.

Article 4.

A (Shinto or Buddhist) sect shall have a

superintendent priest and a denomination shall have a director

of the denomination.

The superintendent priest of the director

of a denomination shall supervise the (Shinto or Buddhist) sect

or denomination and represent it.

When the office of superintendent priest

or director of a denomination is vacant, or when such priest

or director of a denomination is a minor, or cannot carry on

his daties for a long time, a procurator shall be appointed

to carry out his duties.

When a superintendent priest, the director

of a denomination, or a procurator therefor, intends to assume

office he must obtain the sanction of the competent Minister

of State.
